This page gathers every gemstone in our collection cut as a pear — the teardrop outline with one softly rounded shoulder tapering to a single point. It is a hybrid form, borrowing the broad light-return of a round brilliant at the wide end and the elongating effect of a marquise at the tip, which is why it reads as both classical and quietly modern in a pendant, a drop earring or a ring worn point outward along the finger.
The varieties currently cut this way in our stock are Aquamarine, Mozambique Ruby, Paraiba Tourmaline, Rubellite Tourmaline and Blue Zircon. Pears suit these stones for different reasons: the elongated form draws colour along the length of a pastel gem such as aquamarine, while in a richly saturated ruby or rubellite it lets light escape the deeper body colour rather than reading too dark.
When comparing pears, weigh length-to-width ratio — a narrow stone looks longer and more delicate, a broader one fuller and more classical — alongside symmetry of the point, evenness of colour from tip to shoulder, and how the stone's brilliance holds across the wide end.
