This page gathers the stones in our collection described by the trade name Fanta — a market term borrowed from the soft-drink hue to describe a vivid, saturated orange. In our stock the name belongs exclusively to Spessartite Garnet, the manganese-aluminium member of the garnet group whose colour arises from manganese within its own crystal structure rather than from any added element or coating.
Spessartite spans a range from warm golden-orange through to a deeper reddish orange where traces of iron enter the composition. The stones most often called Fanta sit at the purer, brighter end of that range, where the orange is clean and unclouded by brown. Because garnet has a high refractive index and no cleavage, well-proportioned cutting returns light briskly and the material takes a crisp polish.
When choosing between individual pieces, weigh saturation against tone: a lighter stone will read more luminous in daylight, while a deeper one carries more presence under lamplight. Consider also clarity, as spessartite frequently shows internal inclusions, and how the cut distributes colour across the face of the stone.
