This page gathers every gemstone in our collection whose origin is recorded as Pakistan. Three varieties appear here: fluorite, kunzite and peridot — each a distinct mineral species, and each chosen for the qualities that make it worth cutting rather than simply collecting.
Peridot is gem-quality olivine, and unusually among coloured stones its green is intrinsic to the mineral's iron content rather than a trace impurity, giving it a consistent olive to lively yellowish-green with notably high birefringence. Kunzite is the pink to lilac variety of spodumene, coloured by manganese; it is strongly pleochroic, so a well-oriented cut is what determines whether the face-up colour reads soft or saturated. Fluorite is calcium fluoride, prized for a remarkable breadth of colour and glassy transparency, but it is comparatively soft at around 4 on the Mohs scale.
When choosing between them, weigh intended wear against hardness: peridot suits regular use with reasonable care, kunzite requires protective settings and shelter from prolonged strong light, and fluorite is best reserved for pendants, earrings and collectors' pieces. Cut orientation matters most with kunzite; clarity and colour saturation with peridot.
